Our History

In 1891, founding members drew up articles of incorporation to form a new church named North Blue Earth Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Congregation to be located in Brush Creek Township. The congregation formed a joint parish with South Blue Earth Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Until a church building could be constructed, North Blue Earth held worship services in private homes and in school houses. In 1891, a building site was agreed upon, and in 1895, with the necessary funds raised, the new church was built on the current building site. Worship services and all congregational meetings were conducted in Norwegian until 1931.

In 2010, North Blue Earth Lutheran Church and Bricelyn Lutheran Church decided to share in joint ministry.
